The staff of downtown wine at a wine tasting event

Left-Right: Sean Eggar, Amanda Monger, Seth Barch, John Wilson

John Wilson

John started as manager at Downtown Wine & Gourmet Fall of 2014 and worked with the business from Spring 2012 through Spring 2013.  Beer and Wine have been a passion of John’s for the past five years and he is excited that that passion has turned into a career. John loves learning about new beers and wine and is interested in sharing that knowledge with the clientele at Downtown Wine & Gourmet.

Three things you might not know about John:
·      He moonlights as a singer-songwriter, but only for his closest friends.
·      His favorite movie is The Big Lebowski
·      He is, in fact, married to the greatest girl a guy could find.

CeCe Dodd

CeCe works in Public Safety Administration during the week and spends weekends pursuing food and wine passions. When not managing the Broadway Farmers’ Market or helping coordinate Broadway Hometown Partnership events, she can be found attending food and wine festivals or working Friday and Saturday nights at the shop

Sean Eggar

Sean is an engineer in his spare time, but his real passions are food, beverages and spirits. Sean joins us Friday nights and Saturday afternoons for our tastings.

Amanda & Jay Monger

Jay first discovered a passion for wine during college, and started staging wine & beer dinners for friends. Their wish to share their love of food and drink lead to staging home catered wine dinners at events for friends, family, Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance and the Children’s Museum.

Amanda and Jay Monger dove into opening a wine shop 4 months into their marriage, to nurture their own love of wines. Both graduated from Eastern Mennonite University.

Amanda keeps the books and lends expertise in selecting our stock. Jay works full time at Excel Steel, but is always happy to share the benefits of his experience (particularly when that means sampling the expensive stuff).

They particularly enjoy traveling to vineyards to sample new wines, predominantly in Napa and Sonoma.
