Lone Birch – Pinot Gris
The family that owns the vineyards of Lone Birch has been harvesting and crafting wine for four generations. Their focus on sustainability is real and tangible practice. They use beneficial native grasses and cereal grains, which help bind the soil limiting exposure to wind and water erosion. The grasses also create habitat that helps attract beneficial insects to the vineyard. The farmers also impact soil tilth through the application of compost and grape pumace which we recycle from winery operations.
Brand new as of 2012, their Yakima Pinot Gris has become a welcomed addition to our Washingston State portfolio. An enticing bouquet of tropical fruit leads to a well-balanced, medium-bodied mouthfeel with luscious flavors of pineapple, pear, and white peach prevail in the glass. 90 points Wine Enthusiast.
